My rose of shannon bush does not bloom, can you give me some reasons why it wouldn't? |
I think you are asking about a Rose of Sharon or Hibiscus syriacus. These plants bloom on new wood of the season, meaning what has grown during this spring and summer. The most common reason for not blooming is pruning at the wrong time. If you need to prune the shrub, do so only in late winter or very early spring. Another possible reason is that the plant is in too much shade. They really prefer full sun all day long, or at least half a day of good strong sun. |
