When can I safely cut my faded daisies and other perennials back ? |
As a rule of thumb, you can remove spent flowers as soon as they occur or you can wait until the majority of them have faded and cut them all off at once. The plants themselves can be cut back to about three inches or so after frost has killed them back. Plants that retain an evergreen portion should be left intact, with only the browned stems and flowers removed. |
