I know there have been many questions on the "purple-ish" ornamental grass in Zone 6 (PA), that it is not hardy. But I plan to cut it back to 4" above the soil, pack it with 5" of mulch, plus a burlap cover for the winter. Do you think it might survive? It is planted on the side of my house with the neighbors house 20' away to block a lot of cold winds. I also plan to pot up some just in case I loose it next spring. What do you think? Have you heard of anyone in this zone have this "rare" luck?

Unfortunately, I really doubt it will work with the tall purple Miscanthus grass, but it's always worth a try!
