| I have been given conflicting advice. I have 4 beautiful cannas that I planted in my yard this year. Living in New Jersey, can I mulch them and leave them in the ground? Someone told me if it gets to -20 degrees, they'll freeze. That rarely happens here in NJ. Thanks for your reply. |
| Cannas do not withstand extreme cold, with zone 7 being borderline as temperatures approach zero, so it depends how much of a risk taker you want to be. In my (sad) experience, it is a lot safer to dig and store them even though it takes some work. |
