I used floating row covers on my potatoes this year and they did spectacularly until I removed the covers. Can I leave the cover on until harvest or are the flowers important for pollination? Thank you.

The flowers are not important, other than to indicate what's going on below ground. When the first flowers appear, the plants have begun to develop tubers. You can harvest small potatoes when the flowers first open. But, the flowers are not necessary for tuber development and some kinds of potato plants don't flower at all.
