I just transplanted several peony, they still have greenery on them, do I need to cut them back before our first frost? |
Allow the foliage to remain until frost makes it wilt, then remove the leaves at ground level. Don't forget to mulch over the soil surface to protect the roots. Allowing the foliage to remain until death will help the roots collect as much nourishment as possible (through photosynthesis) and will ease the plant into dormancy. |
