| Because the cats are using the soil as a litter box, plants and flowers will not grow: how can we get the soil healthy again and therefore produce beautiful flowers and shrubs? We've tried different manure's, topsoil and fertilizers, but each year it gets worse and worse and nothing will grow where once we had beautiful flowers. Is there a product that we can add to the soil or any other treatment available that would take care of this problem? Your asssistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. |
| Although the litter box problem is an unfortunate one and can be unhealthy for the gardener who comes in contact with it, this would not normally account for a marked decline in the plantings. You might want to run some basic soil tests to make sure that the pH and fertility levels are within acceptable ranges for your plants. Your county extension should be able to help you with the tests and interpreting the results. |
