I would like to know what is the latest time I can lay St. Augustine sod? I only need about 15 strips to cover an old flower bed in my yard and I would like to do it before next spring.

Early fall is an excellent time to lay sod or seed new lawns. The cooler autumn temperatures coupled with increased rainfall makes this time of year terrific for establishing new lawns. Grass will grow as long as temperatures remain above 40F so you can plant as late as the end of November in your gardening area.
