What kind of indoor tree may thrive in an area by a window with a northern ecxposure? |
That's a tough situation. Most houseplants require more light. You might try banana-leaf fig (Ficus maclellandii). This is a slow grower but it can reach the ceiling. Schefflera arboricola is more shrubby but it can reach about 7 feet and will tolerate low light. Rubber tree (Ficus elastica) can grow very tall and will tolerate some low light, but does better with medium light. You might also consider a tree philodendron (P. bipinnatifidum). It is a large plant that requires staking but can reach 7 feet high. Hope these ideas help! |
