The Q&A Archives: Source for Long, Thin Green Bean

Question: I am looking for seeds for a specific type of green bean. They are dark green in color but are also very very thin and long (8"). Does Burpee carry a green bean of this type or do you know what they are called? John Butcher Telford, PA

Answer: I wonder if Burpee's variety "French Filet" would fit the bill. The bean is described as having a "delicious, rich flavor, unlike any other". They are "thin, tender, slender, straight beans", with dark green pods streaked with purple. They grow 5-7" long. I hope this is what you are looking for.
