| It can safe to plant grapes near your roses as long as you're careful about the drift from any pesticide applications you use on your roses. Grapes are generally found at the top of grape arbors (the fruit forms on new shoots which develop on old wood) so if you're cautious when spraying, the grapes should be fine. Grape vines are rampant growers on their own - additional nitrogen fertilizer will result in exceptionally lush green growth, and fertilizer you apply to your roses will certainly reach the roots of your grapevines. If you have another sunny spot you might consider planting either the grapes or the roses there, separated from one another to avoid problems. |
