The Q&A Archives: "pruning A Peony Plant"

Question: When should I prune my peony plant & how do I prune the plant?

Answer: Peonies are usually cut back to the ground in the fall after frost has killed back the stems. Remove and destroy the stems and foliage, especially if there have been any disease problems this year. This will help avoid problems carrying over to next year.
