I purchased Martha Stewart purple hyacinth bean seeds at Kmart. The vine grew, but failed to flower or show any purple color whatsoever. I scanned the package and it sent me to your web site. I am disappointed.

A southern favorite, purple hyacinth bean can be difficult to grow and bloom in northern areas. It needs full sun and a long growing season to come into bloom. The flowers are a purply pink and the beans themselves are purple but they don't begin to produce until fall in some areas!

Starting them indoors in spring and planting them in a raised bed in a sheltered, warm and sunny spot can help.

I'm sorry you are so disappointed -- if you have concerns about the seeds I would suggest you contact the seed company directly.
