I purchased this tree and was given no information on it other than the tag and what the man at the nursery told me, I have checked all my gardering books and cannot find it listed.

The genus and species for this hawthorn is Crataegus crus-galli and the variety name is 'Crusader' or sometimes 'Cruzam.' I found references to the genus and species in quite a few books, but none mentioned this particular variety. However, here is a website from a wholesale nursery that contains information: http://209.98.59.5/RefRoom/Ref.... Since it's characteristics will be similar to the species (C. crus-galli), you can use information from that tree for guidelines, also. It is commonly called cockspur hawthorn.
I hope this helps!
