Tree Asp On Hollies - Knowledgebase Question

What information is available on the tree asp? I believe it to be a larval form of a moth. The hair tufts have some form of venom or toxin Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, stinging caterpillars are usually puss moths. Although they can sting people causing pain and in some cases an allergic reaction, they do not usually harm the tree. You may find the following TAMU fact sheet helpful:
