The Q&A Archives: When To Plant Azaleas

Question: I was given two azaleas for my birthday in October. We have already had our first hard frost here in Michigan and I am wondering when I can plant them. They are in pots. Could you please tell me when is the best time for planting?

Answer: Since you've already been hit by frost, plant them early next spring after the last frost. They need to establish root systems in the ground before cold weather to survive.
