When exactly should Lily of the Valley pips be planted? I ask because I want to give them out as favors at an April 19th wedding. Would this be plausible?

What a sweet idea! Unfortunately, Lily of the valley is usually sold as bare pips for fall planting and as potted plants for spring planting. In my experience, it is a bit risky to use live plant material as favors -- many times guests are unsure how to handle them and if travel is involved, the gift can be a bit problematic to transport home. Perhaps a lily of the valley scented sachet or similar keepsake would work instead?
