The Q&A Archives: Tulip Planting.

Question: Can I still plant bulbs (tulips) in my Zone? The ground is not yet frozen but it is cold!

Answer: Late November is a bit late. Typically, you'd want to plant bulbs by late September-early October in your area. However, if you've already bought the bulbs, I'd suggest planting them anyway since they'll lose vigor if you try to hold them over. They may not put on a strong flower show in the spring, but depending on the variety they may do so the next year. Good luck!
