| That's difficult with such a cold, short season. Colorado State University Extension recommends only red or yellow raspberries (Rubus idaeus) for elevations up to 8500 feet. Other bramble fruits are not recommended. For deciduous fruit trees, you are probably on the borderline. Determine your USDA zone (it's probably 5 but without knowing your exact location, it could also be 4 or 6). Most apple varieties will grow in 6 or 7, but there are also hardy varieties rated for 5 and even 4. The same is true for cherries and peaches. However, they can be problematic as late frosts can kill the blooms. |
