| I have some narcisus bulbs but fear it is too late to plant them as we have already had a frost (date is November 28th). Do I attempt to plant now or should I just keep them in a cold dark area until spring and plant at that time? If I plant next spring does that mean they will not blossom until the following year? Also, will they stay "fresh" over the winter? |
| Unfortunately, bulbs are alive and can not be held over for long periods, especially under typical home storage conditions. You can plant bulbs up until the ground is frozen too hard to dig. It would be best to go ahead and plant them now, even though it is late November. An alternative would be to plant them in pots in then chill the pots as needed to induce blooming, but this option is quite a bit of extra work. |
