| A good rule of thumb to follow is to allow enough room between plants for adequate air circulation and to allow them to grow to their full potential. Try not to let the leaves of one plant touch another (to keep insect pests and diseases from traveling from one plant to another. Head and leaf lettuce needs to be spaced 10"-12" apart, in rows about 12" apart. Indeterminate tomato plants should be spaced 20"-30" apart, and determinate tomato varieties 18"-24" apart in rows spaced 36" apart. The seed packets should have specific information for the varieties you purchase. Hope you have a bountiful harvest! |
