| How far do wisteria roots spread from the base of the vine, and how deep? I want to train wisteria up the side of my house, but do not want its invasive roots to disrupt the drainage systems at the base of the footings. |
| Wisteria are deep and tenacious rooted plants. Since the vine is potentially a very long one, perhaps you can plant it at a safer distance and then train the vine toward the house. You might also consider using an underground barrier to direct the roots away from the system. |
