| I received daffodil bulbs from another garden. Unfortunately they must have gotten wet before I received them, because they started to sprout in the bag. Can I plant them this spring , or must I discard them. Thank you |
| Daffodil bulbs are alive, and should be planted in the fall for best results. They need a chilling period in order to root and bloom, so you might try planting them in pots immediately and setting the pots in a cool location (but not cold enough to freeze them solid) and see what happens. In my experience the bulbs can't be held over successfully until spring, partly because the chill period is then too short and partly because they usually rot in the meantime. |
