The Q&A Archives: Zone 1 Vegetables

Question: How can I get a list of vegetables that I can grow in this zone?

Answer: You can grow most any veggie you desire. The concern is with your short summer season. If you choose varieties that mature in the shortest amount of time, everything you plant should perform well. Be sure to provide as much sunshine as possible to your veggie garden.

If I were gardening in zone 1, I'd plant the following:
Bush Blue Lake Beans, Little Chicago Hybrid Beets, Broccoli Bonanza Hybrid, Short 'N Sweet Carrots, Early Sunglow Corn, Early Pride Hybrid Cucumbers, Maestro garden Peas, Early Crisp Hybrid Peppers, Spinach Bay's Leaf Hybrid, Roly Poly Zucchini, Early Girl and Fourth of July Tomatoes.

Good luck with your garden!
