| I recently purchased an "arrangement"with a betta in a vase & a lily on top with roots in water. The plant has long rounded leaves not like the long grassy leaves of a tiger lily.The flower is a white cresent teardrop shape.The bottom leaves starting at tip blacken and die. Questions:what name/type of plant is this? Does it belong in water or soil? nitrogen deficience or suffocation? p.s. the betta is alone in an aquarium,so at least he's happy! |
| Unfortunately, based on your description I am unable to specifically identify the plant you have. It is not unusual for terrestrial plants to be sold as aquarium plants, however, since some plants will survive for a certain period of time despite the excess water. Perhaps you have such a plant. If you are willing to experiment, you might try planting it in potting soil. Alternatively, you might ask the supplier if they can identify the plant for you and be able to research it that way. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful -- but I'm happy to hear the fish is okay. |
