The Q&A Archives: Annuals and Perennials

Question: What are annuals and perennials?

Answer: Ken,

Annuals complete their life cycle (seed sprouts, plant grows, blooms, produces seed and dies) in one year. Perennials may die back to the ground in winter, but return again from the roots or crown (base at soil line) the following spring.
