Nimbleweed likes hot, dry conditions and thin turf. So one way it can be controlled is by creating a thick turf and mowing high. Fertilize in September and November. The fall fertilizations are the most important. Do so again in late spring, but not at all in summer. ALWAYS mow at 3 inches high. This will shade the nimbleweed and create a poor environment for it. Try this cultural control this summer, and see how much your lawn improves!
