I have never grown any type of bean before. I don't know if they will grow well in my garden. Can you please send me recomendations and basic requirements I am interested in the Fordhook Standard filet beans. |
Green beans are not too difficult to grow. They need a location in full sun and a decent garden soil (they prefer a pH between 5.5 and 7.0 and need a soil that is reasonably well drained meaning not soggy or clayey). Presoak the seeds in water for a few hours and then plant the seeds directly in the garden. Plant in late spring once the soil has warmed up and there is no chance of frost. Enjoy -- there is no substitute for freshly picked beans! |
