| Both Early Sunglow and Honey and Cream are normal sugary hybrids (SU) so they do not need to be isolated from other varieties. The supersweet Hybrids (Sh2) should be planted at least 100 feet and some recommend 250 feet from SU and SE (Sugary Enhancer) corns. Another way to do it, is to sow seed at least 10 days apart, so they aren't ready for pollination at the same time. However, it's also a good idea to plant one variety in a "block" which helps ensure that pollen will be dropped at the appropriate time when ears are ready. Blocks should have at least 4 rows of corn about 10 to 20 feet long, and about 2 feet apart. Hope this info helps! |
