| I, too, have a few tree stumps on my property and I've successfully grown annuals in them. The stumps have been excavated enough to hold plastic pots, which are filled with potting soil. I believe you could do the same with your herbs - plant them in a pot and sink the pot into the stump. I'd be concerned about planting directly in the stump; adequate drainage can be an issue. To absolutely ensure the success of your herbs you might want to go the pot within the stump method. |
