Splitting Of Trunk Of Japanese Maple - Knowledgebase Question

My japanese maple has begin to split apart from the main trunk due to heavy snow. Can I save it by wrapping the trunk?

No, once the tissue is torn it can't be "repaired." Unfortunately, you may need to prune off the split branch.
