What type of annual flowers would you recommend for "full sun" flower boxes? I have had problems in the past with the flower box annuals wilting and dying back early. The flower boxes get full sun all day. Any ideas for what flowers would do nicely in all day heat?

Full sun in a container can be tough. Layer an inch or so of mulch on top of the soil to help conserve moisture and reduce soil temperatures. Water slowly and deeply and make sure the entire soil gets moist, and that water isn't just running out the sides of the pot. Warm-season annuals that take heat and sun include sunflowers, tithonia, zinnia, coreposis, cosmos, gaillardia, black-eyed Susan, coneflower, lisianthus, petunia, and vinca.
