I am looking for a climbing vine for a trellis that is in mostly a shady area, preferably one that will flower through the
summer. Thanks for any help you can give. I tried morning glories last year and they just
didn't get enough sun.

Unfortunately I can't think of an annual vine that would bloom well for you in a shady area. You might consider growing a clematis vine there instead. Some varieties bloom off and on all summer and will tolerate quite a bit of shade. The fall blooming clematis, for instance, will grow nicely in shade, although its sweetly scented white flowers do not occur until fall.
