The Q&A Archives: Zones For Plants

Question: I am moving from los angeles to philadelphia and wanyt to know what plants from my container garden I can bring with me to transplant.

Answer: Philadelphia would be considered a warm zone 6 to possibly a cold zone 7, depending on the microclimate in your own garden. A location in town, well sheltered from wind and with heat reflected and retained by buildings, will be warmer than a location in a suburb or colder still, a windy rural spot. Good luck with the move!
