| Novawood is recycled plastic. This material is used in the sides. The bed itself has no bottom per se. It is intended to be set up on the ground so it would not need a bottom. When you set it up, loosen the native soil underneath it and mix some of that with your soil amendments. This will allow for better drainage and deeper rooting of your plants.
