The Q&A Archives: Perennial Seeds

Question: What perennials from seed will bloom the 1st year?

Answer: Unfortunately, most take two years to reach blooming size. If started early enough indoors however you might see blooms on lance-leafed coreopsis such as "Early Sunrise", purple coneflower, gaillardia, and verbascum "Southern Charm" along with violas and some dianthus.
