| You can transplant your trees outdoors anytime after the weather warms in the spring. In fact they would probably like very much to be outside! Avocado trees love full sun, but will grow in part shade. Trees grown from supermarket avocados will not be very cold tolerant and might need winter protection if your weather dips below freezing for any length of time. A mild frost shouldn't hurt it though, especially after it's been in the ground for a few years. Avocado trees are relative carefree. Provide full sunshine to partial shade and well-draining soil. Water your trees regularly during the growing season and they should be quite happy. |
