I don't have room for a garden and I'm attempting to plant some green peppers in 3-lb. coffee cans.I can't find the information on what type of soil to use and if I can grow them in containers. Is it okay to use coffee cans to grow peppers in and what type of soil do I use? |
You can start the peppers in those cans, but they would need to be transplanted into larger containers eventually to have room to reach maturity. At least a 5-gallon container (sometimes nurseries have left-over plastic containers), but 10 or 15 is better. Punch drainage holes in the cans. Note that the cans would also get hot in the sun. Use an all-purpose potting mix. |
