Codiaeum (Croton) can be grown outdoors as an annual or indoors as a houseplant. They perform best as greenhouse plants because of their need for humidity and ample water. If you choose to grow them in containers outdoors during the spring and summer months, you can bring them indoors during the cooler autumn and winter months, then take them back outdoors the following spring.
