Is it possible to start kiwi plants from seed?

I'm afraid the seeds in kiwifruit are not viable and will not sprout. Another fruit with sterile seeds is the banana. Kiwis are propagated by cuttings and you must have a male plant for every 4 female plants for fruit to set. If you really want to grow kiwifruit, be sure to purchase both a male and a female plant.
