I am realtively new to gardening and have very limited space to work with. I would like to grow pole beans, vining peas, tomatoes and cucumbers in separate small locations , but I am unsure of the exact type of support needed for each. Would a single stake of some type be sufficient for these plants, or is a trellis or teepee needed. I will only be growing 1 to 3 plants of each vegetable, and want to use the least complicated type of support.

I'd recommend the trellis or teepee. A single stake isn't going to provide enough support for the weight of these plants. You may find this article, "Trellising Vine Crops" helpful.
