As a matter of fact, you can grow lots of annual flowers and vegetables in your gardening region. Outdoor planting can begin the first of June and if you start your seeds indoors, you'll have some transplants ready for the beginning of the season. In late March start seeds of English Daisy, Lobelia, Nemesi, Nicotiana, Petuna, Snapdragon, Sweet Alyssum and Verbena. In mid-April begin seeds of African Daisy, Ageratum, Aster, Godetia, Larkspur, Nasturitum, Candytuft, Clarkia, Marigold, Phlox and Zinnia. You can also start seeds of vegetable transplants, 4-6 weeks before setting out. Your best choices are broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumbers, lettuce and short-season tomatoes. Enjoy your summer garden!
