Can you grow basil, in a pot in doors? I have a window sill with all plants and would like to grow basil because in my backyard we have stray cats and are afraid they may urinate on them or contract the plants with a disease.

Basil tends to do fairly well as a container plant, but you might try one of the smaller varieties if you are using a window sill. Provide as much sunshine as possible, water when the top of the soil dries out, and pinch your plant back to make it bushy. Cats do not generally like basil, but I agree with you - I want to know for sure the basil I'm eating is free of foreign matter!
