Are Liquidambars susceptible to a root rot or fungus of any sort? Supposedly they are resistant to Oak root fungus but are there other fungi they may lack resistance to? Thankyou.

According to Westcott's Plant Disease Book, Sweet Gum (Liquidambar) is resistant to oak root fungus but susceptible to leaf spot and heart rot in California, and root rot (Cylindrocladium) in Texas and Georgia. Provide neutral or slightly acidic soil to avoid chlorosis and water 1-2 times a month during dry weather to keep your liquidambar thriving. Hope this answers your question!
