Picea omorika or Serbian spruce is a lovely tree. According to Michael Dirr's Manual of Woody Landscape Plants, this plant does best in the cooler USDA zones of 4 to 7, and slowly reaches about 50 to 60 feet (or larger). There are named varieties including dwarfs that grow to differing proportions. It prefers a moist soil, semi-shade and protection from winds. It would be likely to do better in the northeast than in your area. |
