Does it matter how or which way (direction)you plant a seed ?

No, it doesn't matter at all. Seeds will send a root down and a shoot upwards, whether they are planted sideways, upside down or rightside up. What is important is that you plant them at the recommended depth and you keep the soil evenly moist during the germinating process.
