Please recommend a fast growing/spreading ground cover for an area which gets good sun, not a lot of water available and will grow in sandy soil. Thank you! |
There are many possible choices. One would be thyme, mother of thyme or a creeping thyme, for a blooming ground cover. Another plant that blooms and would do well in such a location is sedum. There are many types of sedum to consider, some are taller and some are very short. Another possibility would be the creeping phlox, phlox subulata. Yet another choice could be the evergreen juniper shrubs. There are many types of juniper ranging from low creeping forms to knee hight spreaders that make wonderful ground covers. I hope this gives you some ideas. |
