Ligustrum japonicum 'Howard' (also sold as 'Frazieri') is a dense evergreen shrub of upright habit and can be grown as a small tree with careful pruning. The cultivar 'Howard' produces new leaves which are yellow, turning to green with maturity. It's interesting, in that emerging leaves are yellow and previous season's leaves are green, giving it almost a two-toned effect.
