We have a neighbor who insists on letting his dog run free thoughtout the neighborhood, in spite of the fact that we've complained before. The problem is that his dog keeps eliminating on our front lawn and it is very unsightly and annoying! Is there anything we can get to keep him from doing this?

Apart from talking to the neighbor, calling the dog catcher, and putting up a fence (either theirs or yours), there are not too many things you can do. You might try some of the repellents, either commercial or home-made using a base of garlic; you could also try a motion-activated water spray or similar device, but in my experience the best solution is to convince the neighbor to control their dog. Perhaps if a number of neighbors worked on the problem together there would be a better chance of (peaceful) success.
