The Q&A Archives: Difference Between Morning Glory

Question: I planted morning glory seed next to our fence, and I can't tell if morning glory is coming up or bindweed, how can I till the difference? Thank you for any help you can give me. Barbara Hamilton Salina, KS

Answer: When morning glories emerge, their very first leaves are forked, and the bindweed are spade- or arrow-head shaped. They are in the same family, so I understand your concern! Bindweed is a tough plant to combat, so don't let it go to seed. Let me know if you have any other questions.
